The Fall River remains a consistent option through the late-August heat, with cold spring-fed water keeping conditions consistent throughout the system. Fish are holding around weed edges, submerged wood, undercut banks, and the deeper slots between faster water. 

PMDs and BWOs remain in the mix, with black, olive, and tan caddis adding plenty of variety. Terrestrials continue to be an important part of the menu, and ants, beetles, and smaller hoppers are all worth working around grassy banks and structure. Midges and mayfly spinners can also provide some quieter surface opportunities early in the day.

Subsurface fishing remains the most consistent approach with small Perdigons, midges, mayfly nymphs, and stonefly patterns producing throughout the river. Small leeches and streamers continue to be a good change of pace, especially around deeper bends and submerged wood where larger fish have more cover.
