Water clarity is good

Ashurst Lake - Flagstaff, AZ (Coconino County)

by Arizona Game & Fish Department

Road access to Ashurst Lake and campgrounds is open. Water clarity is good. Folks have been successful using corn, PowerBait, and nightcrawlers on the bottom and slowly trolling small lures from a boat. The lake level is low, but launching a small boat is possible. There is an algae bloom on the lake which can impact fishing success. Try fishing with the wind at your back, the wind will push the algae away from where you are fishing and the water quality is often better on the shoreline the wind is blowing away from. There are some large exposed boulders on the boat launch to watch out for. Only boats with a 10-horsepower motor or less are allowed on Ashurst Lake. Surface water temperature 66.7 F, pH 8.94, D.O. 9 on 9/12/2022.
