The striper bite is going well with various mixed news but we are getting some nice catches. The good news is its just up and down the river here below the Davis dam. the Colorado river is giving us some great out door time our deserts are alive this time of year with foliage and wildlife. Plants are in bloom and baby birds and reptiles are out and about. Our waters are seeing the various fish we have mostly in spawning season. We are getting some trout stocked from the federal hatchery the willow beach hatchery are bring us fish these trout are on the small side, about 6 inches or so. These fish are to assist in the caddis fly issue. The smaller trout seem to feed very aggressively on the caddis fly. A very big thanks to the federal agency in helping us with this problem. The hatchery will only be able to provide this relieve to about the end of this month. We hope our city will step in and continue to use this effective weapon on combatting the caddis fly issue. The stripers are being taken form shore or boat up and down the Colorado river.

Our community park area has a great shore line and with out the usual water traffic is a really great fishing spot with a lot of opportunity to land some nice catches. Our local angler Willard Ashburn landed a 4.08 pound striper at 23 and 3/4 inches using a pencil popper he had just purchased from us. I am getting reports that the casino area on the Arizona side is also doing well and producing a few stripers. this size is what most are landing with anchovies working very well. another one of our local anglers Gene Tafoya (blue shirt) was fishing in the Pala Verde area from shore using anchovies and shared his catch of a nice 3.94 pound striper at 24 and 1/2 inches. a bit up river Gary Regan (tan shirt and hat) was fishing from his boat using anchovies and landed  his 7.10 striper at 30 and 3/8 inches. We are getting a great run of fish and now is a good time to get out and enjoy the openness of our parks. We have space and even if not fishing check out the activity we have going on. Its our area has the extra space for all to have and enjoy during this time. If you are sick or don't feel well stay in don't share please and thank you.

A little news from Lake Mohave the coves are starting to show some striper activity so watch for the signs like birds or the boiling activity of the stripers feeding on the shad.

The Topock Marsh is a bit slow as the large mouth bass and the pan fish are nesting.

Hope this helps for now and we will see you in soon Thanks for all of your support. Now Go Catch A Fish Rusty Riviera Marina 520 Riviera Blvd. Bullhead City Az. 928-763-8550
