Clear Creek Reservoir, located in Winslow, AZ, is a modest but well-maintained 45-acre lake offering productive seasonal fishing for rainbow trout, channel catfish, carp, and sunfish. Managed by Arizona Game and Fish, the reservoir is stocked regularly in spring and early summer with catchable-sized trout.
Shoreline access is excellent, especially near the fishing dock and day-use areas. Trout are commonly caught using PowerBait, worms, or salmon eggs, and spinners like Rooster Tails are also effective. Fly anglers do well with buggers and streamers in deeper sections.
As temperatures rise, catfish become more active, particularly in the evenings. Chicken liver, stink bait, and cut bait yield solid catches of 1–4 lb channel cats. Carp, often seen cruising the shallows, offer an exciting fight on corn or doughballs. Sunfish and bluegill provide action along weedy margins and rocky outcrops for kids and beginners.
Clear Creek Reservoir is part of a larger park that includes picnic facilities, restrooms, and recreational features like hiking trails and a swimming hole. Only non-motorized boats are allowed, and float tubes are popular among trout anglers.
Though water levels vary with seasonal runoff, Clear Creek offers a convenient and scenic spot for anglers in northern Arizona. It’s particularly appealing to families, novice anglers, and those looking for an accessible, well-rounded fisher
