Lake elevation is 1,657 feet (94-percent full). Anglers this week reported that Canyon Lake has been a hot spot. Most bass are in post-spawn, also some big bass can be found guarding beds. Success has been reported using crankbaits at a slow-trolled speed, a half-ounce football jig with a jigger craw and especially dropshots.


Roboworms in a morning dawn color is popular and usually effective with dropshots.

The Arizona Fishing Guides two weeks ago said the lake just had its last trout stocking of the year, and the bass seem to know it. You can catch these big bruisers on trout swim baits and big jerk baits. If you fish Canyon, please send your report to BFishing@AZGFD.gov.

Bartlett is very low, 45-percent full on Tuesday. Some areas are not recognizable from the previous year of high water. Bass are in the summer mode for the most part -- small bass are very active around rock stringers on the main lake.
