Castaic Lake held near 82 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures were in the upper sixties. Bass anglers reported good fishing overall, though some days were better than others. Finesse baits produced most of the action, with brown, green, and purple colors working well on drop shots, Carolina rigs, and shaky heads. Senkos in green shades with black and silver flake were effective closer to shore, and some anglers found success slow-rolling Keitechs along the bottom. Cobblestone banks and bluff walls were productive areas to target. Striped bass anglers trolled umbrella rigs and flies in 25 to 50 feet of water and picked up a few fish, but the bite remained on the slower side. Catfish also showed up for anglers, taking cut baits that were intended for striped bass.
