PowerBait and worms fished off the bottom are a good approach for trout. Lure anglers were successful slowly trolling inline spinners in gold, silver, and black. Fly anglers were successful both from shore and from boats throwing large (#12 or #10) dark-colored bead-headed wooly buggers or Simi-seal leeches. A dry and dropper combo is also a good approach with a hopper or a dragon fly as your dry fly. Green sunfish are congregated around the rocky shoreline of the dam and are a great kid fishing opportunity with small hooks, meal worms, and pencil bobbers. These fish use the rocks as cover and are very close to shore. Only boats with a single electric motor are allowed on Dogtown Lake. No gas-powered motors. The limit is 2 bass minimum size 13 inches, the limit is 4 trout. Surface temperature 71 F, pH 8.6, D.O. 8.2, Secchi depth 0.61 meters on 8/28/2023.
