Colorado River - Laughlin - Laughlin, NV

This is some great news we are getting a few stripers showing up. Our local anglers Leroy Morin Jr. and Tara Bond were fishing from shore at our Rotary Park. Leroy was using anchovies to land this 6.24-pound striper. This is all do to a nice break in the weather which is letting our anglers get out and try their luck. We are still getting some trout stockings, so we hope to see a few in before the rainbow trout stocking season is done. I have noticed that the larger mouth bass are nesting or close to guarding their nesting areas.

The carp are starting to show up in various areas and in the past when they show up so do the strippers. For our bow hunters and spear fishing folks the carp are one of the only species in this area that are to be taken by this method. That is by arrow or spear most all other fish in this area are to be by hook only.

I have not heard much from up on Lake Mohave and mostly due to the weather the wind has been relentless. Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch. Mostly thanks so much for all your support.

I have been hearing of a few stripers in the 4-to-5-pound range up on lake Mohave but so far only a rumor. I know we are getting a rainbow trout stocking but again our wind has been keeping our anglers at bay. So...... Read More
