This time of year, the Largemouth Bass are or close to pre spawn. They are moving back to their nesting grounds so to say. The Largemouth Bass are usually out of the current and the Smallmouth Bass can be found in the same waters as Striper and Rainbow Trout.

The coves up on Lake Mohave near the shallows is most likely where you would find the Largemouth Bass and the Smallmouth bass tend to be along the shelves.

Below the Davis dam you have to places like the Laughlin Bay. This is one of my favorites and most anglers that fish the area use it as a practice ground. The Largemouth Bass are mostly a catch and release fish, which is what I did with this one. I landed this fish using a zmans tubez in the peanut butter and jelly (pp&j) color on a ned head the light one 1/5 for non-current or like lake settings. Yep, I just took the picture and set the fish free. While fishing the current I like the heavy 1/15 for Smallmouth action and sometimes the Striped Bass will take the bait also.

The wind has been keeping most anglers away from the water but it's time to get back out there and catch a fish. A reminder we are your local weigh station our scale is provided by Arizona Game and Fish to give all anglers a place to bring your fish for an accrete weight. So, with that said we look forward to seeing you in to share that catch and your story. Mostly I want to say thanks so much for all of your support
