Great news we have anchovies again. Not just my bait and tackle shop but should be at all your local shops should have anchovies again and prices are back to normal. With that being said we are having a great run on stripped bass. Most of our stripers are in the 1 to 3 pound range but now and again those larger fish can get to your bait or lure before the little guys. Our local anglers have been having some success along our shores here along the Colorado River Below the Davis dam. Some of our anglers have been doing well by both boat or their personnel water craft yep jet skiis make great fishing vessels.

Billy Jackson was fishing from his boat near the unfinished casino and landed a nice 7.7 pound striper at 29 and 3/8 inches. He was throwing his own version of a swimbait. A nice fish and a nice job on the lure he made. It was fashioned similar to an ac plug in a trout pattern.

While Mike Gabrielson was fishing from shore near Davis Camp and landed a nice striper he was fishing with anchovies. He had a few left in the freezer. We will be getting our usual trout plant around the first week of October from the Willow Beach Hatchery. The crew at the hatchery take great pride in the fish they raise for us and they provide some nice limits for anglers of all types of experience. We also have been getting a few plant of rainbow trout as our city has just put in a bunch at Davis Camp Community park and Rotary Park there are trout all over the river.

Not much word from up on Lake Mohave but with the weather and crowds calming down that should improve soon, the Topock marsh area has been closed for a bit due to the wild pigs being thinned  The herds have been causing a lot of damage to the area. The marsh should be open in all areas for fishing along with some hunting areas. Hope this helps some for now we so look forward to seeing you in to share that catch and the story most of all thanks so much for all of your support.
