Riviera Marina Fishing Report
Colorado River - Laughlin - Laughlin, NV
We are still getting some trout stocking thanks to the crew of the federal fish hatchery at Willow Beach. Our local angler Gerry Ward is back again with a nice limit of 5 Rainbow Trout he landed while fishing from shore near Davis camp to land these rainbows. Gerry was using a spinner and one of my favorites for our area a blue fox. I do like that one and a panther martin. The gold blade has been working well. We did get a stocking at Rotary Park and I was hearing that night crawlers were working well and producing a few limits of trout. A reminder if your spinner is not producing any strikes try power bait or worms. A nice change we have a visiting anglers form Michigan Mike Guchdmich ( German spelling). He was fishing with a friend near the Bayshore Inn and landed a nice size pan fish. His pan fish (could be blue gill, red ear or sunfish) weighed in just under 2 pounds at 1.78 pounds and was 13 and 3/4 inches. He was fishing with a trout spinner for this catch which caught him by surprise.
I haven't heard much from up on Lake Mohave as of yet but again our weather has been a bit on the rough side soon to change. I am noticing that the carp are stirring up the water as they are close to pre spawn. This usually means the large mouth bass and small mouth bass follow close to spawn. Next our stripers will be in spawn the smaller stripers should be coming in soon around the 2 to 5 pound range. This is an estimate as some of the larger fish tend to mix in some be sure you have a good knot and the drag is set for some of these great battles. Hope this helps for now and we look forward to seeing you in to share that catch and the story. Most of all thanks for all of your support
