Striper fishing was on fire last weekend in Coles Bay, as well as near the restaurant at Scorpion Bay where fish were on the bottom and nightcrawlers or anchovies were hitting.

The moon phase is still not ideal and the night temperatures are dropping, but fish can still be caught. Try the mid-afternoon into sunset jigging ½-ounce spoons in deeper water. Best colors of course are silver, white, chrome, shad color or even chartreuse with white mixed in. Casting paddletail swim baits can be also very successful.

There also had been a great Zara Super Spook top-water bite for many anglers at first light. Fish the mouths of Humbug, Castle Creek or Coles Bay.

(Lake elevation 1,667 feet, 63 % full).
