The lake level had been dropping 8-10 inches daily, but has been level since last week. Bass fishing had been uncharacteristically slow, and this may have been due to the rapidly dropping water. There were reports that bass that were in 30 feet of water went to around 50 feet deep -- along with schools of shad.

Colder ambient and water temperatures are causing a transitional pattern for bass, crappie and other species. The water temperature will be in the mid to high 60s on most days.

Lake elevation is 1,762 feet, feet, 54 % full.
