Striper fishing has finally picked up in the Vegas Wash. On Saturday anglers were catching fish on shad near the shore. Reports are that shad are spawning in the shallows, so now is a good time to fish from shore or near shore in a boat. One guided trip reportedly caught over 50 fish last Friday. Black bass fishing remains good. Anglers have not needed to travel far out of the Callville marina to catch fish. A couple of anglers had good luck just outside of the tire line with crankbaits and soft plastics.
