The fishing here along the Colorado river below Davis dam is producing some great catches. Our anglers are doing well targeting the stripped bass.
In the Casino are on the Arizona side its our local angler David Story with a limit of stripers (10 along the river). He was fishing from shore and the bigger of the group weighed in at 2.5 pounds and 19 and 3/4 inches and one at 2.86 ponds and 21 and 1/2 inches.
By boat and drifting with anchovies are Wisconsin visitor Bob Lindas was able to land some Striped Bass to share. He was up above the bridge. These fish seem to be our average size but there are some larger ones out there so watch that drag have a good knot and keep your line fresh.
While further down river fishing in the back waters and by Kayak using night crawlers. This mother and daughter team landed these fish to share. Mom Pauline Pence landed a 4.74 pound striper and Amanda Pence is showing off a 2.48. Largemouth Bass and just under 1 pound pan fish( Blue Gill) they were in the upper big bend area. While fishing on a kayak these fish will pull you all over its pretty fun.
I have been getting word that near the dam on Lake Mohave is producing some stripers no word from the area above the power lines as of yet.
The Topock Marsh is starting to pick up. We have Scott Buckley with a stringer of channel cats he landed form shore using no not anchovies but chicken livers.
I have to a thanks for all of your support and remember to ice that catch down so we can share your success.
