Lake Havasu - Havasu City, AZ

Fish Spot Details
Lake Havasu is a 19,300-acre impoundment on the Colorado River straddling the Arizona-California border, recognized as one of the top freshwater fisheries in the western United States. It supports robust populations of largemouth and smallmouth bass, striped bass, catfish, crappie, and panfish, including record-sized redear sunfish.
Bass fishing is outstanding, with largemouth found in backwaters and smallmouth along rocky points. Stripers, which can exceed 20 pounds, roam the open waters and are caught trolling or casting swimbaits and cut anchovies. Redear sunfish spawn in the shallows in late spring and provide trophy panfishing opportunities. Crappie are targeted in winter using jigs and minnows near submerged brush.
Catfish include both flathead and channel species, caught year-round on live or cut bait, particularly near deep rock structures and current edges. Anglers fish both from boat and shore, with popular areas including Windsor Beach, Site Six, and Cattail Cove.
Fishing licenses are required (AZ or CA depending on location), and reciprocal agreements govern shared waters. With warm weather, consistent action, and full amenities, Lake Havasu offers a world-class angling experience for tournament anglers and casual fishermen alike.
