Yucaipa Regional Park Lake - Yucaipa, CA

Fish Spot Details

Fish Species: Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout
Yucaipa Regional Park Lake in Yucaipa, CA, offers accessible, year-round freshwater fishing in a managed setting ideal for families and casual anglers. Operated by San Bernardino County, the park contains two fishable lakes stocked seasonally with rainbow trout and channel catfish.

Trout are stocked from fall through early spring by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. These fish, typically ranging from 1 to 3 pounds, are caught using PowerBait, nightcrawlers, and small spinners. Catfish are stocked in warmer months and respond to chicken liver, cut mackerel, and prepared baits fished on the bottom near deeper shoreline access.

Bluegill and redear sunfish are common in summer, easily caught on worms or mealworms. A limited population of largemouth bass is also present, with spring being the best time to target them using soft plastics or crankbaits. Catch-and-release is encouraged for bass.

Fishing is permitted from shore only. Boats and float tubes are not allowed. The park offers clean facilities, picnic shelters, restrooms, playgrounds, and seasonal water features. A valid California fishing license and park day-use fee are required.

With its regular stocking, well-maintained facilities, and tranquil environment, Yucaipa Regional Park Lake remains a dependable and enjoyable option for local anglers seeking a quality, family-friendly fishery.
