Yuma Area Ponds - Yuma, AZ

Fish Spot Details
Fish Species: | Channel Catfish, Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Green Sunfish |
The Yuma Area Ponds consist of several small lakes and urban park ponds stocked regularly by Arizona Game and Fish as part of the Community Fishing Program. Locations like West Wetlands, Fortuna Pond, and Redondo Lake offer year-round fishing for catfish, trout, sunfish, and more in a family-friendly setting.
Channel catfish are stocked in spring and fall, while rainbow trout are added during cooler winter months. Sunfish and bluegill are abundant, and some ponds—especially Fortuna—contain bass and carp. These waters are designed for bank fishing and feature amenities such as paved paths, fishing docks, and restrooms.
Bait anglers do well with PowerBait and worms for trout and use cut bait or chicken liver for catfish. Panfish take small jigs and worms with ease. Most ponds prohibit boats, keeping the atmosphere quiet and focused on shoreline fishing.
A Community Fishing License is required for those over age 10. Daily bag limits typically include 2 trout, 4 catfish, 10 sunfish, and 1 bass over 13 inches. Regulations are posted onsite and available online.
With easy access, seasonal fish stocking, and amenities for all ages, Yuma’s urban ponds offer a convenient and consistent way to enjoy fishing in Arizona’s desert southwest.
