A new record was set last Friday at Willow Beach when a lucky spear fisherman brought in a 41-inch striped bass. Since no existing record has been documented for striped bass taken without a hook-and-line technique along the Colorado River, this fish sets the bar. Further south, anglers have been bringing in largemouth, smallmouth and striped bass as well as catfish. Anchovies have proven to be a multi-functional bait and are enticing all four species.
