Fishing conditions: Good
Report: A quick note, there is a 'Problem Bear' in the Nature Conservancy. Per the conservancy, it has shown zero fear of humans and has walked up on anglers. They are not closing the conservancy, however they recommend bringing bear spray if you do come up to fish. Clarity is excellent and the temps are holding in the upper river. Overall the river is fishing well, best before and after the sun is on the water. Look to see more browns in the river as they get ready to spawn this fall. Dry-dropper with a Chubby Chernobyl hanging a Weiss Firefly, Walt's Worm, Olive Hotspot, or Sweet Pea is a good setup. The Yellow Sallies are coming off in the afternoons, so swap your dropper with a UV Sally or Jiggy Yellow Sally. The Browns are moving up from the lake into the upper section of the river as they ready to spawn, so streamer fishing can get you hooked up to a big one. To reserve a day with one of our expert guides to experience one of the most picturesque streams in the north state, call Bryan in Outfitters at 800-669-3474.
