Fishing Conditions

It’s winter on the Animas.  While it has been a more mild and temperate winter, it’s about to get colder.

Your favorite attractor nymph in #10-16 followed by a smaller midge, mayfly nymph, or caddis pupa is where you should star, but use enough weight to get it down.  Fish won’t be moving far.

There have been a few fish rising to good midge hatches, so watch for risers in the afternoons.

“What about streamers?”  We get it, you all want to fish streamers, no matter what we say.  Go for it, brother.
