Fishing has been great this fall at Knott. The average size trout has jumped significantly over the last two seasons. Larger fish in the 17-22 inch range are starting to show up again more consistently. Insects have been prolific. Surface activity has been sporadic for the dry fly fisherman, hopefully that become a little more consistent for the final weeks of the season. Small leech patterns behind clear or camo intermediate lines can be good early in the day when slow moving flies preferred.  Spin fisherman using large dark jigs are also finding some quality fish. 4-wheel drive vehicles with good clearance and off-road tires are recommended. Be aware the wet roads can make access dangerous in the fall.
