Best trout fishing is in the early mornings or evenings with water temps peaking in late July and early August.  Fish are averaging 16″- 18″. Worms, PowerBait and spinners are enticing fish, as well as a variety of woolly buggers, balanced leeches, and nymphs for the fly anglers. Limit is 5 trout. Bass fishing has picked up with the warmer weather. Crankbaits and soft plastics are working well for black bass, and anglers are reporting wiper hitting topwater lures in 8 to 10 feet of water. Starting July 1st, anglers may keep one black bass measuring 15 inches or longer. Algae near the shorelines is increasing, making shoreline fishing more difficult. Clear, open water accessed by boat will produce better fishing conditions.
