The striper bite along the shores of the Colorado River is great

It's river news again! The striper bite along the shores of the Colorado River is great. Local anglers and visiting ones are doing well with anchovies as the go-to bait. Tom Gallant and his fishing buddy John Schott had a successful day and landed a few fish. They were fishing from Tom's boat using anchovies near the nature center area. John's catch weighed in at 3.56 pounds and measured 21 and 5/8 inches, making it the larger fish this time.

Other local anglers, Mike Merritt, Evan, and Russel Mink, along with grandson Ethan Merritt, were fishing a bit further upstream in the big bend area on Grandpa's boat. The larger fish they caught weighed 6.20 pounds, and the other was 4.44 pounds, both using anchovies as bait. It appears that glide baits and other lures are not producing as well for now, but that might change soon as larger fish start coming in.

There isn't much word from up on Lake Mohave, but the bite is just starting, especially in the evenings when it's a bit warmer. If you're looking for a good fishing spot, that might be your best bet for now.

We hope this information helps, and we look forward to seeing you soon to share your catch and stories. Thank you so much for all your support. Now, go catch a fish!
