At Alamo Lake (report courtesy of Alamo Lake State Park Manager Drew Collett, 6/8/23), the bass fishing is currently good and most fish are being caught on spinner baits and lipless cranks, or drop shotting a Baby Brush Hog or worms in pumpkin or motor oil with red, silver, or blue specks. Channel catfish are being caught with nightcrawlers and dough bait rigged with a bobber or just off the bottom of the lake. Crappie fishing has been a mixed bag. The daytime crappie bite has picked up, and successful anglers are using roadrunners with live minnows attached. The night bite has been good under green lights using live minnows. The park store has minnows for sale until they run out. They will be restocked in October for the fall bite. Please call the park at 928-669-2088 to check availability before your trip.
