The Metolius has been fishing well. A variety of hatches including salmonflies, golden stones, PMD’s, BWO’s, and caddis make for fun dry fly opportiunties. Nymphing has been excellent as well when fish aren’t focused on the surface. Utilizing tungsten beads to make sure your flies get down nice and deep is helpful. Swinging large streamers or using large nymphs is a good way to target bull trout. Swinging sculpins, leeches, or other smaller streamers is a fun way to target some larger rainbows as well.
