EAGLE VALLEY RESERVOIR

Rainbow trout are hitting rainbow-colored PowerBait, and night crawlers fished off the dock and from shore in the mornings. Weeds are coming up across the lake, making shore fishing challenging without weedless hooks. Bass action is still good. Anglers are having success with bright-colored jigs and spinners.

ECHO CANYON RESERVOIR

Rainbow trout are taking sunset-colored PowerBait and worms off the dam. Bass are hitting on bright-colored spinnerbaits and jigs. Lots of small bass are biting. Patient anglers are catching some hogs. Crappie action is slow on days with temperatures in the 90s. Weeds are getting thicker along the shoreline, and the water is gradually dropping.

LAKE MEAD

Anglers are chasing striper boils throughout the Las Vegas Bay area and the Overton Arm. Live shad is the preferred bait, but a variety of shad lures are working just as well. Largemouth bass are attacking crankbaits thrown near rocky points in the Hemenway and Callville Bay areas. Catfish and carp are biting all day at Echo Bay. Cats are taking anchovies, while corn is working for carp.

LAKE MOHAVE/WILLOW BEACH

Anglers using night crawlers are finding rainbow trout in the shadows from the Willow Beach fishing pier to the shallow coves south of the marina. Kayakers are reporting success with striped bass at the south end of Lake Mohave. Shad swimbaits and anchovies are producing fish at dawn and dusk. Boaters are catching black bass up to 4 pounds on soft plastics in the coves.

LAUGHLIN

The best striped bass bite is being reported around Big Bend State Recreation Area. Most fish are averaging 1-2 pounds, but many anglers are reaching their 10-fish limit. Anchovies and spinnerbaits are popular choices. For catfish, try fishing anchovies or chicken liver in marshy areas.

 WAYNE E. KIRCH WMA

Aquatic vegetation is thick along the shoreline, making it tough to cast from shore. However, trout are biting worms below a water bobber. Dark-colored plastics and emergers have enticed bass. Anglers have had the best action fishing from boats, float tubes, or kayaks in the mornings.

URBAN PONDS

While temperatures are still hot, fish early and late in the day. Panfish are still creating fun, family fishing opportunities. Lorenzi Park is an excellent location to catch green sunfish and bluegill. They are visible from shore and ready to bite any small piece of worm or hotdog thrown at them.
