Arizona Game and Fish Commission to meet by telephone, April 17

PHOENIX — A public meeting of the Arizona Game and Fish Commission will be conducted telephonically beginning at 8 a.m., Friday, April 17. 
 
Members of the public may view the meeting at www.azgfd.gov/commissioncam or may listen to the meeting by calling (602) 666-0783, Access code: 280 046 234##. People who listen by phone should keep their phones on mute. 

Unless expressly provided otherwise with any matter, the Commission may discuss and may vote to take action on the following agenda items:
 
  • Consideration of proposed Commission Order 7 (bighorn sheep) establishing seasons and season dates, bag limit, permit numbers, and open areas for the 2020 seasons. The Commission will also consider and may approve an amendment to Commission Order 2, deer permit numbers and season dates, in two units for the 2019 fall hunting seasons. 
     
  • Consideration of proposed amendments to Commission Orders 11 (tree squirrel), 12 (cottontail rabbit), 14 (other birds and mammals), 15 (pheasant), and 16 (quail) for the 2020-2021 hunting season. The Commission will also consider and may approve Commission Orders 19-22 (dove, band-tailed pigeon, waterfowl, and snipe), and 24 (sandhill crane) establishing seasons and season dates, legal species, open and closed areas, bag and possession limits, and permit numbers, for 2020–2021. 
     
  • The Department will provide the Commission with the proposed Law Enforcement Boating Safety Fund (LEBSF) grant allocation formula per ARS §5-383.
     
  • The Department will announce the applications recommended for the 2020 Heritage Grant awards.

  • The Commission will be briefed on the status of updating the Master Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Forest Service Southwestern Region and may take a position or provide direction on the Department’s efforts to renew or update the MOU.
