Teamed up with my good friend Steven Rodriguez for his first fishing trip to the Delta. We launched out of Paradise Marina in Bishop Cut around 7 a.m. with a outgoing tide and 61 degree water. We ran to the juncture of Bishop and White Slough and started tossing buzzbaits and Whopper Ploppers but after about 20 minutes of no action we switched to vibrating jigs with blue gill colors. Black blades with PB&J skirts and a green pumpkin/red flake paddle tail swimbait. We caught a few fish on those and because it was a minus tide (0.24 at 9:30 a.m.) and very clear water we also tossed dropshot rigs with a 6 in. Robo Zipper in the Margarita Mutilator color on the deep edge of the weed lines.

We caught all of our fish in Whites Slough from Bishop up to Honker Cut. I would also like to give a shout out to Loren Jenkins, owner of Trigger Happy Comfort Grips. We were launching at the ramp at the same time and he gave Steven and I a sample of his products. I never thought I would need the trigger cover on my pole, but after using it on my vibrating jig rod I realized the difference. I have got plenty of blisters on my finger when working rip baits hard and fast and the THCG will solve that problem. Thank you for checking in with RBBass and please check out the links on our site for great deals on products and services.
