Richard J.: Two of us fished Green Valley Jan. 25, and had real good luck with corn, Velveeta Cheese, and cheese power bait fished 12-18 inches above slip weight. Caught limit including one that was 17.5 inches long and weighed 2 pounds, 2 ounces.

The warmer temperatures this past week have increased the water temperature in Roosevelt Lake by three degrees. Water temperatures of 58 degrees are being reported and that has the bass becoming more active. It's still crappie time at Alamo Lake. Mark Knapp from Alamo Lake State Park said several anglers are catching 8-15 crappie a day up around the buoy line. Some are using roadrunners with a minnow trailer while others are just using a split shot and a minnow. The crappie are lurking in in 25-30 feet of water, he said.
