(1,662 feet, 59-percent full): Derrick F. of the Striper Snatcher Guide Service reported: The water temperature has dropped six degrees (during the past week) coupled with the normal south wind in the day and the pumping of water from Waddell Dam. This combination is pushing bait and gamefish in the northern creek arms and coves.

Striped bass, white bass and largemouth bass are actively chasing bait in the transition areas of the northern portions of the lake. I like to drift a reaction bait, which for me personally is a Rat-L-Trap lipless crankbait. Suspended fish will strike it with authority and is a fun tactic for beginners as no casting is necessary. Once I see the schools of fish, I will drop a heavy spoon for a vertical presentation. The heavy weighted lure will compensate for the amount of drift from the wind. Live shad and anchovies continue to work well at night on main lake points in area where water clarity is at its best.
